Air Sorbead
The properties are distinctive, its pore size and large active surface area allow for exceptional adsorption and drying capability which, together with the beaded shape, resistance to abrasion, low restoration temperatures and a longer life span provide for increased effectiveness due to decreased energy consumption, reduced operational costs, and elevated operational safety due to its design.
DehySorb OG is Orange Indicating Silica Gel, it contains methyl violet which makes it can change it orginal color orange to green, or to colorless. When the beads are dry, they appear yellow/orange in color, and when they have become saturated with moisture to about 15% by weight the beads will change to a green color. The organge silica gel is alwo toxic and potentially poisonous, do not use around the food.
DehySorb BR is Blue Indicating Silica Gel, it contains cobalt chloride which allows the blue silica gel changes its color to pink when it reached the max adsorption capacity. When it is reactviated with heat to dry our the moisture, the pink color will trun to blue again, blue silical gel is for industrial use, do not use blue silica gel for food as the cobalt chloride is poisonous material.
DehySorb SG-127 is a spherical bead silicate gel which is a porous, amorphous form of silica (SiO2). Although it has the same chemical composition as sand, silica gel is radically different from other SiO2-based materials due to its unique internal structure.
DehySorb SG-127 can be used for drying purpose when adsorption capacity is greater than molecular sieve for the specific operating conditions or when the required water outlet concentration is not very low.
DehySorb SG-127 can be used as buffer layer for adsorber bed protection. DehySorb® SG-127 can be used in dewpointing or hydrocarbon recovery units.

Desiccants, How to Best Use!
- Desiccants will only be effective when used in a closed moisture barrier package or a rigid, sealed container. This needs to be in a controlled environment to allow for optimal adsorption of the trapped vapors inside. If additional moisture from outside gets inside the packaging, then these moisture control products cannot guarantee the same results. For optimum humidity control, it is best to use desiccants in conjunction with a Humidity Control Card, which can be placed inside the package to monitor humidity levels. When the card shows a reaction, it is time to replace the desiccant.
- There are various moisture control products, so it is important to pick the right desiccant. The type and quantity of desiccant will depend on the type of packaging being used and the volume of the container. With this, it is possible to determine which desiccants can work with a Desiccant Requirement Chart. From these options, it is critical to then consider the amount of moisture that needs to be adsorbed and the rate at which the process must occur. Overall shipping and storage conditions have an impact as well, with temperature and humidity goals affecting the final decision.
- In general, the material of the desiccant can greatly impact its cost and absorption rate capacity. On the low end is Clay Moderate, with an absorption rate capacity by weight of 28%. Silica Gel Moderate offers medium capacity by weight at 38%, while Molecular Sieve Fast has a high absorption rate capacity by weight of 20%.
